Doodles

For the last few weeks I have been doing more doodling. I decided that it would be nice to share these, so I have put them on cards that I can give to people.
I loved doodling flowers, so most of the cards I have done are simple flowers, but I have also accepted a challenge to draw dinosaurs!  I know, way out of my comfort zone!  Anyway, really chuffed at the results and I am looking forward to creating more.
To create these I sketch with my B2 pencil, then I use my Faber Castle drawing pens, usually size M or size S to finalise the drawing, then I use my watercolour pancils and water brush to colour the image.

Seahorse Quilt

Over the last week or so, I have been sewing this lovely seahorse Quilt for my niece Alexander's birthday. I know I have a few months yet, but trying to be more organised and having it completed ahead of time, as each quilt takes more time than I think. I also have started one for her sister.
During this lockdown I have been trying to be more focused with my time and focusing on completing on some items. I managed to complete cushions to match the quilts and the girls already have these.
Once I have finished and gifted the quilt I will share it on Fabulous Crafts Facebook page.

Meet Patch 💜

Over the last days, I have made my first bear. I have used a patchwork print fabric that has been in my stash for a while.
It was nice to make, and I look forward to making more.
This one is going to my grandaughter Hazel to keep her company.

Thank you cards

 Thank you cards

This week I have been making thank you cards for my daughter to send to those who kindly gave her wedding gifts recently.

She asked for "something simple", so I decided to stamp swirl leaves, from Clarity Stamps directly onto the base card with Peeled Paint distress oxide ink.
I then punched a topper from Clarity Stencil card, using the Stamping Up punch. I then used the "thank you" stamp from the Clarity wedding set onto the topper using Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink and also shaded the edges before sticking onto the base card using 3d foam pads.

Pastle flower card

I made this card for my sister in law's birthday.

I used Jo's flower stencil with pastel shades of Ranger Ink Oxides onto Clarity stencil card using my Clarity brushes. I then used a Clarity geometric stencil to fill in the corners of the card.

I finished off the topper by adding the greeting with word chain stamps, and personalised it with Clarity alphabet stamps.

Before putting the topper on the 8 inch card, I again used the geometric stencil and brushed the corners with oxide ink to bring the two parts together. I also did this to the front of the envelope.

Autumn stamping

Autumn is my favourite time of year.

I love watching the colours of the leaves change on the trees, the air become cooler, and darker evenings. Once the leaves fall from the trees, I love walking through crisp bundles of leaves and hearing them rustle at my feet.

When I saw the Simply Cards and Paper craft magazine (issue 208) at the supermarket, I decided that it would be ideal to create a set of turning into Autumn set of note cards.

To start off with I started by cutting a sheet of Clarity stencil card into 4 squares. I then chose my stamps from the set included in the magazine, the acorn bough, a couple of small leaves, and the sentiment.

I stamped the bough and sentiment with Archival jet black ink.

I then brushed the edges and corners with Oxide ink, before stamping the small leaves using the same colours to expand the bough.

To complete the topper, using Faber Castel polycromos I coloured in the leaves and acorns, and added detail to the stamped leaves.

I then mounted the topper onto a 5" card to complete the note card. I stamped some of the small leaves on the card.

I made a set of 6 which I will gift to a friend.

Pink monochrome card

I have made this Pink card using Creata paper and the Creata butterfly stamp. I have added a pink bow which I coloured with a promarker. I used rasperry adirondack ink to shade the back ground card and the scallopped circle by spellbinders. I also used it to stamp with my Clarity word stamp. I hope you like it. I have been busy crafting a lot over the easter holidays and I have posted a few of them on Facebook at Fabulous Crafts. Thanks for stopping by.
